MESSAGE FROM ICBN 2010 CONFERENCE CHAIR
The Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (IBN) is delighted to organize the 5th SBE International Conference on Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (ICBN 2010) at the Biopolis in Singapore on August 2-4, 2010. This is the third time that we have partnered with the Society for Biological Engineering, an American Institute of Chemical Engineers Technological Community, to offer an interdisciplinary platform for researchers from all over the world to convene in Singapore and showcase their latest scientific discoveries.
ICBN 2010 features an impressive line-up of 23 invited talks by renowned international experts, including 3 plenary lectures by Professor Buddy Ratner (University of Washington, USA), Professor Kazunori Kataoka (The University of Tokyo, Japan) and Professor Tae Gwan Park (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, Korea). The technical program also consists of 26 contributed oral presentations and 61 posters by researchers from 15 countries. The presentations feature multidisciplinary research in the areas of Drug, Protein and Gene Delivery Systems, Cell and Tissue Engineering, Biodevices and Biosensors, Pharmaceuticals Synthesis and Green Chemistry, as well as Nanoparticles, Nanocomposites and Nanoporous Materials for Bio-Applications.
This year, we also have selected 14 excellent students from 7 countries for the ICBN 2010 Student Travel Awards. They have been selected from 39 applicants for these awards, and the presentations of these young scientists would be another highlight for the conference.
We are delighted to extend a warm welcome to you, and look forward to your active participation at ICBN 2010.
